Incredible Things to do in Rovinj

Rovinj is one my favorite places in Europe. Rovinj is a small town that has no more than 15,000 people. It is reminiscent of those small Italian towns that you see plastered all over social media. I fell in love with Rovinj at once and dream about buying property there in the future.

Best things to do in Rovinj:

Renting Bikes and going through Punta Corrente while Beach Hopping

My favorite activity was when my wife and I rented bikes and rode through Parco Forestale Punta Corrente, or better known as just Punta Corrente. Before you rent a bike, make sure to pack a lunch and bring your swimsuit and towel. This will ultimately be a beach activity coupled with some light cardio and amazing scenery. On your way to the park, you will see a variety of stands to rent bikes from and they are relatively inexpensive. Choose the one that suits you or offers the best price.

Punta Corrente is beautiful, and the ride is well worth it. There are a variety of beaches that you can choose from but we ultimately settled with Lone Bay Beach. Make sure to get there early during peak tourist season, as it can get quite crowded. There are a number of bars to get refreshments from, so make sure to bring some money.

Tip: For my non-European readers, you will see nudity even if it is not a nude beach. It is completely normal and acceptable in Europe for women to take their tops off. It just happens. You are going into a new culture, and you must try to assimilate into it. Just do not stare lol.

Enjoy your time at Lone Bay Beach and inch your way to some new beaches as you explore Punta Corrente. This can be an all-day activity or a half a day, it just depends on your schedule. I will say that I wish that I extended my time in Rovinj and had more beach days.

Seaside Swimming by the Old Town at Monte Beach:

This is a rocky outcrop right beside the Old Town that locals and tourists alike swim and sunbathe at. There is no sand and it can be uncomfortable if you are not prepared. Make sure to pack some padding or you can just simply jump in the sea when you get uncomfortable. This is a great place to take a dip in the heat of the day or set up for the evening as the sun sets.

Promenade Seaside Walk

There is a main promenade that leads both into and out of the Old Town. You will walk by the port, gelato shops, cute restaurants, and the sea is always right next to you. I would recommend doing a promenade walk in the evening hours as the sun is setting. Sunsets in Rovinj just hit different. I have seen a lot of sunsets in a lot of beautiful places, and Rovinj is near the top of my list. You will understand when you see it for yourself.

Old Town

The Old Town of Rovinj is stunning, cute, quaint, and charming all at the same time. Just get lost in the winding alleyways and make sure to bring a camera and capture the unforgettable moments. A notable spot in the Old Town is the bell tower specifically the bell tower at St. Euphemia Church. The church is on a hill overlooking the Old Town and offers some spectacular views. It is uphill along cobblestone streets so be warned if you decide to wear heels.

Gelato at Gelateria Italia

This is a gelato shop run by an Italian family. When that summer heat is unbearable, gelato is a necessity. Stop by the shop and get you a flavor or two to cool down. When you are finished, do it like the locals and end it with an espresso.

Mediterraneo Bar

In the theme of amazing sunsets, one of the best places to enjoy a sunset in Rovinj is at Mediterraneo Bar. Primarily offering drinks, including coffees and mocktails, this bar can get quite crowded and they do have limited seating, so make sure to get there early if you want a spot. They have comfy cushions and chairs nestled on a rocky outcrop in the Old Town that is a perfect spot for watching the setting sun over the Adriatic Sea.

In conclusion, I love Rovinj and give it a 10/10. Definitely worth a visit! Respond to this post or feel free to email me if you have any questions!
